Dr. Volk is the owner, administrator and working dentist of two group dental
practices – Schaumburg Dental Associates (Schaumburg, Illinois) and Richard
J. Volk, D.D.S., P.C. (Bartlett, Illinois). Practices are actively affiliated with
St. Alexius Medical Center (Hoffman Estates, Illinois), Good Shepherd Hospital
(Barrington, Illinois), Northwest Community Hospital (Arlington Heights, Illinois),
and Alexian Brothers Hospital (Elk Grove Village, Illinois). Dr. Volk is the present
Chief of Staff (Dental Division) at Northwest Community Hospital in
Arlington Heights, Illinois.


Dr. Volk is a member of the American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, Illinois State Dental Society, American Student Dental Association, Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity, American Academy of Pedodontics and American Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Volk is licensed to practice dentistry in the states of Illinois, New York, New Jersey, Washington D.C. and Ohio. Dr. Volk has published widely in the Illinois State Dental Journal, Dentistry Today, Dental Products Reports and Prevention periodicals. In 1984, Dr. Volk invented, patented and prototyped the “Injecta Caddy” to help give painless dental injections. This device is widely used as a standard for dental injections both in the United States and Europe. Dr. Volk is an active lecturer in the field of anesthetics and has lectured in New York, Boston, California, Georgia and Hamburg (Germany). Dr. Volk is featured in Strathmore's “Who's Who” 2001 and 2002, The National Registry of Who's Who – Historical Society (Boston, Massachusetts) and has been accepted as a life member in the Kingston's National Registry of Who's Who. Dr. Volk is certified and licensed in the following procedures: laser medicine and surgery, brademark implants, core-vent implants, imz implants, 3i implants and madibular staple implants. Dr. Volk is an avid golfer, enjoys racquetball, horseback riding, boat racing, fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving. Dr. Volk is a native of New York City and attended the Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, Illinois graduating with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Volk has been serving the Illinois community with its dental needs since 1979. Dr. Volk is married with three children and resides in Schaumburg, Illinois. Dr. Volk believes all persons seeking dental care should be handled with foremost comfort and care at all times.
