This is NOT a kit car, since it was a turnkey, fully produced in Europe by K-1, as a completed example of how the kit could look fully produced.
It is also NOT a replica, since it does NOT replicate anything Ferrari or any other car manufacturer ever made.
It is also NOT a Ferrari, despite being titled as such by the State of Delaware.
It began life as a European-version Pontiac Trans-Am. That was confirmed by a mechanic for me, who told me it has the European electrics, unlike those for the domestic market.
I've owned it about six years.
It has a five-speed.
Also a T-Top, for convertible effect without having to replace the top every seven years or so, or worry about some slashing a hole in your roof.
When I got it, it was in its turnkey K-1 form.
THAT, in essence, was the donor car.
Then it began its transformation into what it is today.
First, I had the relatively anemic Trans-Am 305 replaced with a BRAND NEW Chevy race car 350 engine. Adding a bigger carburetor, headers, hi-performance fuel pump, etc.
At that point it was about 400HP.
Next, per recommendation by a speed shop, I had a supercharger professionally installed by a guy who specializes in race cars. Doing a fine job of making mine street-legal to pass inspection.
The supercharger manufacturer promised a MINIMUM 50 percent horsepower increase, and 80 percent maximum.
Giving it a MINIMUM of about 600HP, up to a maximum of about 720HP!
Also, a heavyduty NASCAR-style dual disk clutch was installed.
And the steering and suspension was modified for improved handling.
The chintzy-looking red velour fabric inside was replaced with white leather upholstery, well executed by a Mexican master leather craftsman.
A new Alpine sound system was also installed.
And the body of the car itself slightly modified, then repainted from red to black, to better highlight the white leather upholstery.
I've seen mere Fiero-based kit cars selling for over $40,000 on ebay and other places with only a V-6 engine.
But my car not only began as a Trans-Am, a much better car than a Fiero, but it has a 600HP race car engine in it! Not a little V-6.
So figure how much more my car is worth than a $40,000 Fiero kit car.
It sucks up curves like a vacuum cleaner.
But it is a GT [Gran Turismo] type car. Not something to hotrod around in. But you won't see anyone in a Ferrari using it to run straight-line quarter mile times at a drag strip either.
If you want a muscle car to do burn-outs and quick start and stop straight-line driving, I suggest that you buy buy something like an old Chevelle or Vega, and have fun prowling the local Burger Kings. :)
My car will make you an instant celebrity with the groupies and hot chicks of course.
In looks and power it compares to a $300,000 exotic. But for about only a small fraction of that amount you can own it.
And what's nice about it is that you won't have to spend $10,000 every time it needs a tune-up, like a $300,000 exotic does.
Payment by cash in person or by bank CERTIFIED check or bank wire transfer.
NO INTERNATIONAL BUYER.
Shipping arrangements for transporting the vehicle must be conducted by buyer.
I know of nothing it needs mechanically.
It passed inspection. But that expired while it was in the shop getting work done to it. But a buyer from any other state but Delaware will need to have it inspected in his or her home state anyway.
Car will not be released by me until I have the money, and then I will sign over the Delaware title to the buyer.
I strongly urge those seriously interested to come see the car in person. Car is sold AS IS, with no guarantees or warranties implied or otherwise.
Asking $49,000. Email me for more pics if serious, at: tncdel@yahoo.com
May possibly consider trade PLUS cash for mine.
