15 YEAR OLD BOY DOES IT------YOU CAN TOO
Did you see this on ABC's 20/20 or Oprah Winfrey?
Then you now have the opportunity to do same.
Mother was cleaning and putting waay when she came across a large brown bag that looked suspiciously buried beneath some slothes and a skateboard in the back of her 15-year old sons closet. Nothing could have prepared her for the shock she got when she opened the bag and found it was full of cash. Five-dollar bills, twenties, fifties and hundreds - all neatly rubber-banded in labeled piles.
My first thought was that hee son had robbed a bank. Upon confronting the boy as to where the money cam from, she was again not ready for the shock she got. As it turns our, the boy had been sending out, via e-mail, a type or Report to e-mail addresses that he obtained off the internet. I got the e-mail one day and I figured why not. I did as I was instructed and started sending out.
Wothin a few days of sending out the e-mails, his Post Office Box began to fill up with envelopes containing a request for information and a $5 bill. One day when he rode his bike to the Post Office he found 300 envelopoes stuffed in along with a yellow slip stat said he should come to the counter. I thought I was in trouble or something. When he got tothe counter there was whole box more that would not fit into the Post Office Box.
Over the next few weeks he kept sending and receiving. He would go to the bank and exchanging the $5 bills for twenties, fifties and hundreds. He would move to several banks so no one would get suspicious. One day a teller said he would have to have his father come in to exchange the money for him. He became afraid that he was in trouble so he went to another bank.
Surprisingly, the boy had no reason to worry. The reporting news team mentioned above examined and investigated the so-called chain-letter the boy had been sending and found that it was not a chain-letter at all. In fact, it was perfectly legal according to the US Postal and Lottery Law and the code of federal regulations, which states a product must be exchanged for money received. Every five dollar bill that the boy received contained a note that read Please send me Report XYZ. This simple note made the letter legal.
