Ferrets need love before& after adoption
Ferrets are high maintenance pets.
Just like any baby they need mom.(Texas)
When selecting a ferret as a pet, first choose one that is 10-12 weeks old. Ferrets weened younger than that suffer the same trauma any animal(including human babies) suffer if taken from their mother too young. Don't let money-hungry merchants sell you a baby that is too young. Insist on babies left with their mothers until they are 10-12 weeks old. You and your new pet will both be happier. ALSO VERY IMPORTANT Before buying ask where the baby was bred. There have been several incidents of Marshall Farm Babies and other babies shipped through distribution centers being carriers of the ECE virus. When you bring a baby home to older ferrets they get ECE and if not treated (often very expensive) your older ferret WILL DIE. This is happening all over the US.
